TRILLANES VS ENRILE Quarrel (Read the full story)
Senate President Juan Ponce-Enrile and Senator Antonio Trillanes IV are now banging each other, throwing accusations against each other.
Based on reports that Senate President Enrile is accusing Senator Trillanes, of having negotiations with China, of being a ‘fraud’ and a ‘fifth columnist,’ or traitor. Enrile said he was out to unmask the ‘Phantom of the Opera’ of Philippine politics. Hence, the conflict between the two Senators are getting worst, and the latest reports is that Senator Trillanes has confirmed that he was behind the ouster move against Senate President Juan Ponce-Enrile.
This scenario right now is not showing a good image for the law makers of our nation, specifically to our Government Officials. This might somehow affect the stability of the Senate.
So I hope other Senators will now mediate and help fix the gap between the Senate President and Senator Trillanes.
Here’s what Senator Trillanes have said in an interview regarding his plot of ousting Senator Enrile.
“Yes and I haven’t stopped working and hoping for it,” Trillanes told INQUIRER.net in a text message.
The response of Senator Enrile:
“It doesn’t matter to me if I’ll be ousted today,” the Senate leader told reporters.
“He can go around. It doesn’t matter to me. Let the people judge,” he said.
“It’s not of my interest and I don’t care whether he’s talking to anyone. He can go ahead and if he wants to elect himself as Senate President, by all means,” Enrile added.
